The first large scale St. George's Day event in Budapest raised over HUF 2 million for charity, entertaining a full house with a feast of English music, a funny take on a Shakespeare piece, and a great variety of refreshments, games, prizes, + dancing.

In his celebration of the closing mass of the International Eucharistic Congress in Budapest, Pope Francis expressed his wish that the Cross be "the bridge between the past and the future" for those gathered for the event.

Every 7th of January I have to call four friends called Attila and congratulate them on their name day. A Hungarian table calendar tells you whose name day it is, and just to make sure every morning the radio announcer congratulates those who are celebrating their name day. In addition a little sign at the florist’s reminds you about the day’s name just in case you forgot.
